Nigerian singer David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, joined billionaire industrialist Aliko Dangote at Times Square in New York. The pair appeared beneath a large digital Nasdaq billboard on Tuesday. The display featured promotional content for the ongoing Initial Public Offering of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals.

Refinery Public Offer Details

This billboard appearance forms part of a broad promotional campaign for the refinery’s public share offer. The offer officially opened to the public on September 14, 2026. It is scheduled to close on October 13, 2026.

The transaction involves 4.1 billion ordinary shares priced at N525 each. Investors can purchase a minimum subscription of 10 shares. The public offer targets both Nigerian and broader African investors, with a potential to raise approximately N2.15 trillion if fully subscribed.

What drove the promotional display in New York?

The Times Square display aims to boost visibility for the Dangote Refinery public share offer among global and regional investors. By leveraging high-traffic international locations, the campaign supports Dangote’s goal to attract widespread retail and institutional participation ahead of the October 13 subscription deadline.

Dangote previously termed the transaction an IPO for the people. The low minimum entry barrier is designed to enable everyday retail investors to participate alongside major institutional entities. The share offer remains open until October 13, 2026.
